What We're Doing

A major remodel project to our entire facility, which has been years in the making. As God provides resources through His people, plans include:
  • Fellowship Hall renovation
  • A variety of gathering spaces for adults
  • Renovation and relocation of PCC Kids spaces to the main level
  • Renovation and relocation of office space to the lower level
  • New flooring and seating in Sanctuary
  • New restrooms near Sanctuary
  • Updates to HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems
  • Bringing our full facility up to ADA accessibility standards.

Why We're Doing It

"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127:1)

There are seasons in the life of a church when God calls us into something clearly greater than what we could accomplish on our own. Our Greater Than campaign is one of those moments.

This vision is greater than our comfort. It stretches us to trust God in new ways and to believe that what He is building here is worth sacrifice and faith. Scripture reminds us that what feels impossible to us is never impossible with Him:“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
 
This purpose is greater than today. What we are giving toward isn’t just about buildings or projects—it’s about people, ministry, mission, worship, and the countless lives God will reach through this church.

This calling is greater than our ability… but God is greater than our limitations. He is able to take what we give— our resources, our faith, our obedience—and multiply it for His glory and His Kingdom. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”

So, yes—this is greater than us.
Greater than our comfort.
Greater than our resources.
Greater than what seems possible.
But God is greater than all of that.

As we pray, give, and step forward in faith together, we get to be part of something God-sized—something that will outlast us, bless generations after us, and point people to Jesus.

Greater Than Giving FAQs

What is the timeframe for my commitment?
The giving initiative runs for 36 months starting in 2026 with commitments made and fulfilled until 2029. Because the 36-month commitment spans multiple calendar years, we hope this timeframe enables everyone to commit more generously.
What sources can I use to fund my commitment?
Usually, cash and savings are the first sources that come to mind, but you are also welcome to fulfill your commitment using:
• Stocks
• Mutual funds
• Annuities
• IRA distributions
• Other non-cash assets such as vehicles, land, real estate, or business holdings.
There are often tax advantages when giving non-cash assets. For example, it is possible to reduce or eliminate tax liability on the appreciation of stocks by donating via stock transfer. Please check with your tax advisor. If you have questions about using non-cash assets to fund your commitment, reach out to Pastor Steve and he can help answer your questions.
How do I give?
You can contribute to the Greater Than Capital Campaign the same way you contribute your regular tithes and offerings to PCC - in person, online or by mail. You can choose to contribute at whatever frequency works best for you - weekly, monthly, annually, etc.
 
To give online:
  • Click the ‘Give’ tab on the top navigation bar
  • In the ‘Give To:’ field select 'Greater Than Capital Campaign'
  • Complete the required fields and click 'Give' to process the transaction. 
  • There is an option to set up recurring automated giving. 
To give by check:
  • Please write 'Greater Than Capital Campaign' (or similar) in the memo line of your check.
  • If mailing, send to:

  • Please write 'Greater Than Capital Campaign' (or similar) on your donation envelope or include a note.
  • Be sure to also include your name. 
Other ways to give:
  • You may also choose to give via stock transfers, IRA distributions, mutual funds, or non-cash assets. Please reach out to Tamara or Pastor Steve if you have questions about any of these. 

Will we incur debt for the initiative?
We do not anticipate long-term borrowing for this expansion. Our goal is for Palos Community Church to complete the projects as God provides through the generosity of His people. This approach will alow us to complete the project in an even stronger financial position as we reach more people for Christ.

Our initial goal for the pledge campaign was $700,000. However, because of God's faithfulness and guidance, we surpassed that goal and have been blessed with over $1,100,000 pledged. Combined with money already saved in our building fund, that puts us at over $1,600,000 for phase 1 of the remodel projects.
